Who is ORSI?

Even though I’m not in Haiti all the time, I’m there every day. My heart is always there.
Dr. Israelski

The Organization
ORSI provides critical medical infrastructure, surgical teams, and education to regions devastated by disaster, with a primary focus on Haiti’s state hospitals, which serve the most impoverished communities yet receive minimal support.
Over the past 15 years, we’ve delivered over $1.8 million in life-saving trauma equipment to Haiti, Ukraine, Honduras, Uganda, and Malawi. We’ve deployed 30+ surgical teams, established year-round orthopedic training programs, and supplied Haiti’s first state hospital X-ray machines. In Ukraine, we’ve sent 1,000+ trauma sets, critical care supplies, antibiotics, and 14,000 battlefield tourniquets. This year alone, we’ve provided over $100,000 in trauma equipment to Honduras, Uganda, and Malawi.
With minimal administrative costs, we accomplish more than organizations many times our size. The global need for orthopedic care is immense, and your continued support directly saves lives and limbs.

Our Leadership Team

Dr. Ronald Israelski
More about Dr. Israelski
Dr. Ron Israelski, an accomplished orthopedic surgeon and leader in surgical education, had long been dedicated to orthopedic program development in major hospitals and charitable clinics in NYC and the Hudson Valley. Following Haiti’s devastating earthquake, he traveled there to provide urgent medical aid and has since returned many times.
Recognizing that short-term relief was insufficient, Dr. Israelski founded ORSI to address the deeper systemic issues in global healthcare. ORSI’s mission is to provide clinical, infrastructural, and educational support to build sustainable surgical programs in the world’s most under-resourced regions.
